PrayerPrayer is the foundation for all that we do at College First. By prayer we communicate with God, gaining insight and strength for life, and we intercede for others to have strength and insight for their lives. We believe that God has given us prayer as a powerful tool for living a Godly life and as a powerful weapon against evil. There are several organized prayer ministries in which all are welcome to participate. Everyone is encouraged to activate their own prayer power at any time.
Intercessory Prayer Team: This team is open to anyone who wishes to join in praying confidentially for our church, pastors, submitted requests, and our world. “Tuesday At Ten” Prayer Team meets from 10:00-11:30 AM each Tuesday in Room 112 of the main church building.
24 Hour Prayer Vigil – Participants fill half-hour or one hour segments during 24 hours as desired in a time of seeking God on behalf of our church, community and world for renewal and restoration. Offered once or twice annually.
Prayer Force is the email prayer team that receives updates once or twice a week. Currently there are approximately 140 people on this team. Prayer Email Team: Requests may be submitted to the church office at 419-422-7365 or Bonnie Nietz at 419-422-1613 or firstname.lastname@example.org at any time. Requests are then circulated by email to team members who pray confidentially regarding the needs. Those who would like to be a part of this prayer effort but do not have email will be contacted by phone. We welcome you to join with us as we commit to care deeply for one another and as we live life in Christ together.
P.O.W.E.R. (Prayers Offered With Everyone Remembered): This team of more than 50 Prayer Warriors prays daily for every regular attendee of College First Church. Each intercessor prays over a list of approximately 10 families, which changes each month. To become part of this team contact Judy Doby (419-423-8280) or Bonnie Nietz (419-422-1613
Prayer RoomThe Prayer Room (room 111 at College First) is a place to spend time with the Lord, and is open whenever the church is open, currently 8 AM to 10 PM. Materials are available to enhance your times of prayer, worship, meditation, and spiritual formation.
Healing CareHealing Care (Formational Prayer) Groups for Men or Women: Small groups of 6-8 women or men meet for 16 weeks in a close, confidential format that offer an opportunity to grow closer to Jesus and experience His presence, which often brings spiritual, relational, and emotional healing. Key scripture is 2 Corinthians 3:17-18. Facilitators have been trained at Ashland Seminary, with ongoing training. Fliers are available outside the main office and on the Hospitality Table at Winebrenner.
Healing Pathways :
Healing Pathways is the 9 week follow-up Formational Prayer group offered which explores Core Longings more deeply, and reveals false images of God we may have due to life experiences.

Stephen MinistryStephen Ministers: The After People
People often ask, “What exactly is a Stephen Minister?” One way to put it is that
Stephen Ministers are the After People.
Stephen Ministers are there:
. . . after the phone call you hoped you’d never get.
. . . after the divorce papers are served and the bottom falls
out of your life.
. . . after the funeral, when everyone has left and the emotions you’ve
held at bay come crashing in on you.
. . . after the doctor says, “I’m sorry, but there’s nothing more we can do.”
. . . after the nursing home director shakes your hand and says, “Welcome to
your new home.”
. . . after the last child honks the horn, waves, and drives away—and the house
suddenly seems empty.
. . . after the gavel goes down, the handcuffs go on, and your loved one is
. . . after the baby arrives, demanding more of you than you ever
. . . after you find a pink slip with your final paycheck.
. . . after your family and friends have heard your story
one too many times, but you still need to
talk it out.
Stephen Ministers are the “After People.” They are ready to come alongside you—or
your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives—and provide comfort and support for
as long after as needed.
